We are a culture and review publication founded by Ross Barkan, Lou Bahet, Sam Kahn, and David Roberts. We publish book reviews, literary criticism, essays, and reviews of film and television. In a tech-addled, philistine-friendly world, we seek to reinvigorate high culture, and we believe we will.
Our articles will regularly appear both on this website and on our Substack, The Metropolitan Review. We are unique in that we pay our writers the market rates that they deserve. We are actively fundraising for a print publication that will spotlight work from our digital side and will bring wider recognition to the dynamic literary community emergent online. We are a 501c3.
